“Patterns”

Today was our first “Student Led Conference” at our son’s school.  We were given a worksheet that outlined all the stations that each kindergarten student needs to go through with their parents/guardians.  Each station featured all the skills & lessons the class have learned so far.  For me the most interesting station was the “Patterns” station.  Our son had to recreate the patterns from a guide sheet using coloured blocks.  We were also encouraged to make our own patterns.  I realized the simplicity yet important skill of recognizing basic patterns.  Here I thought they just ‘played’ in kindergarten.
